WHO IS IDENTIFIED AS A DIGITAL NOMAD
Digital nomads are characterized by their ability to work from anywhere by remote working and communication over physical presence in a company's central office. The rapid technological advancements of recent years have facilitated the swift adaptation of many to the changes brought about by the covid pandemic. Consequently, a considerable number of individuals have adopted this nomadic way of life as their new norm. Governments worldwide have recognized the surge in digital nomadism and incorporating it into their legal frameworks through the introduction of digital nomad visa programs.
CYPRUS DIGITAL NOMADS
The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa scheme allows Third country nationals (non-EU) citizens who are self-employed, or employees working remotely for employers based outside of the Republic of Cyprus by using technology and telecommunication, to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa. The persons to whom the Digital Nomad Visa would be granted would be given the opportunity to remain in Cyprus for the period of one year, with the right of renewal for two more years. Additionally, digital nomads are entitled to be accompanied by their family members, to whom, a residence permit will be granted, by submitting an application to the migration department, which will expire upon the expiration of the Digital Nomad Visa.
